For our work together
“It was so nice to attend your session this morning, I enjoyed spending time with the group and it was the first time I experienced your teaching style, it is perfect for me, the pace and the repetition meet me right where I am. ”
—Jenna Blaustein, Feldenkrais® GCFP jennaroseblaustein.com
“ The class was lovely. My neck feels looser, more aligned. I appreciated the space you allowed for creativity in finding ways to adapt the exercises to suit my body. “
—Anna Willman, Writer, Focusing Trainer, Fulbright Scholar, The Confidence Clinic, https:// coronaplaza.life/people/anna-willman/
“The Neck is such an important part of the body. Hopefully we will include more for the neck in upcoming processes.. Kim is an excellent teacher with good pacing and a pleasant tone and quality of voice. It was very helpful to have Marie-Paule demonstrate where to put fingers and would have been helpful to see her on the floor too. I was not sure about being close enough with head to wall etc. this session definitely increased my awareness of my neck and its connections to other parts of the body. Like the reminders from Katarina to be spacious and slow with integration. Very helpful. Very much liked the whole class. This is from someone who has lived in her head and not body. Much gratitude and thanks to All! ”

“I find the minimal movements during the lessons evoke meaningful learning. I am more aware of that moment when my system is clear and open. I experience an instantaneous felt sense of curiosity. I can breathe more freely and see that situations are progressing, so I find a more positive view of life. I am more and more aware of my learning as I continue the lessons with Katarina and Thinking in Movement teachers. I am supported in translating the lessons into a rhythm for myself. Thus I find ways to be conscientious – I find the best place for my energy and endeavours to land each day, each week, and for each project.”

“Katarina’s classes are full of deep educational aspects. Her pace makes practice easy. Having feedback from her gives safety. ”
—Yesim Alic, Actress, PhD Candidate, Feldenkrais Practitioner, Sounder Sleep System™ Teacher.
“The students are engaged and inspire me to continue learning and teaching..”
—Kim Reda-Wilson, Bones for Life® Teacher
I have been studying “Focusing” and “Bones for life” with Katarina since 2018. Her classes, tutorials, and practice sessions enhance my ability to listen well, both through words and kinaesthetically through my hands, eyes, ears, and intuition. Katarina’s teaching led me to become a better hands-on practitioner. I highly recommend working with Katarina. She has an innate ability to help practitioners cue into our own nervous systems, teaching us to give space and time for listening to ourselves and others using our kinaesthetic senses.
—Minal S. Feldenkrais Practitioner, USA
“All mini-moves proposed (and softly guided) in the classes resulted not only in relaxation also in learning how to be “coming home”. Invaluable!”
—Alfo Humano, Focusing Trainer, Sounder Sleep System™ Teacher, www.alfohumano.com.ar
“I am enjoying coming to Katarina’s sessions very much. Her welcoming plant-filled space allows me to feel very comfortable and her gentle and perceptive comments and guidance are most helpful! Corona Plaza is a fun meeting space where I have met interesting people from all over the world. Thank you very much for providing this lovely learning space!”
—Silvia Gray, London, Feldenkrais Practitioner, Bones for Life Teacher, Sounder Sleep System™ Teacher, UK, June 2021
“In both of my recent Sounder Sleep classes with Katarina, I’ve had profound experiences. With the mini-movies processes, her gentle manner and soothing voice have helped to guide me into a very deep, quiet, and peaceful place within. I am looking forward to being a part of her August Sounder Sleep training!”

Focusing and Dream Appreciation
“I am delighted that Katarina and her Focusing colleagues are supporting the experiential Gendlin/Ullman dream group process.”
—Janet Pfunder Focusing Oriented Therapist
“Dreams can be an amazing resource in our lives, and are well worth learning about. In addition, Gendlin’s writing on dreams is an excellent bridge into the Philosophy of the Implicit; and Katarina is a excellent teacher, who approaches her subject with wonderful energy, sensitivity, and intelligence.”
—Rob Parker, Focusing Oriented Therapist, Author, leader of seminars on Gendlin’s major work: A Process Model
“Katarina is a compassionate guide, giving space-full listening and interesting feedback connected to relevant articles. Her welcoming attitude embraces all members of the group and enhances working with dreams. Looking at dreams in this attitude enables them to become more and more meaningful, developing an insightful connection to real life.”
—Barbara Rolsma, Focusing trainer, The Netherlands.
” I really have appreciated the class. It’s opened up a new way to do focusing for me and my focusing partner, Anne. I have appreciated getting to do dream focusing with so many interesting and capable persons and it has given me a deeper understanding of some of my dreams. I especially appreciated your guidance in the conference calls. I loved having pictures of the participants and I felt there was a presence in reflecting back what others had said which really enhanced the communication.”
— Patrice Jacob, Camas, Washington State Clinical psychology PhD program at Pacifica Graduate Institute
” Thanks again for putting together this wonderful group, as well as for taking care of us in such an empathic way! I have also enjoyed very much having a companion during the week. All of them have been great.”
—Vicenç Rul.lan, Focusing Oriented Psychologist, Palma (Mallorca, Spain)
“Weʼve all been given advice to “sleep on it” hoping for clarity and direction the next morning. Now you can learn to “focus on it”. Using Gendlinʼs experiential process, Katarina Halm demonstrates how “Focusing and Dreams” can shift our awareness to a more receptive state of intuitive guidance. Dream focusing is a free-flowing, open, gentle and accepting approach to exploring all the possibilities associated with our creative work, problem-solving, decision-making and interpersonal
skills. As a student in Katarinaʼs class I have enjoyed learning how to cultivate the nuances of my dreams.”

HOSTING GUEST TEACHERS IN VANCOUVER BC CANADA
I gave a two day workshop in July, 2012 which was held at the studio of Katarina Halm. The studio space was wonderful for our workshop, easily accommodating nine participants. The large space was great for whole group attunements, Focusing and sharing, as well as for a group Focusing process called “Theatre of the Living Body,” or “Living Theatre.” In addition, there was ample space to break into dyads for experiential practicing in pairs. There is also a kitchen area that is very accessible.
I am most grateful for her support, assistance, and good spirits throughout the process. I highly recommend her for any future workshops – and look forward to returning to Vancouver.
Katarina organized workshops in Vancouver for me in 2010 and 2011, and will do so again in 2012. These workshops were held in her Studio, which I’ve found to be a delightful venue. It is open, airy, and well lit — a comfortable place to teach, and from the reactions of my students, a comfortable place to learn, as well. Katarina’s support both in organizing and promoting the workshops in advance and in hosting and facilitating them as they occurred has been invaluable.
T’AI CHI
I’m happy to hear that Katarina’s T’ai Chi lessons in Dunbar are continuing to go well. There are so many people in that area who have a real interest in T’ai Chi Chuan and who will continue to benefit from Katarina’s knowledge and sensitivity.Katarina’s studio-garden is one of the most beautiful places to practice T’ai Chi that I have ever seen.
I have been pleased to support Katarina’s application for inclusion as a Level 3 instructor within ‘The Canadian Taijiquan Federation’.
I have been teaching T’ai Chi since 1989 and have known Katarina for at least the past fifteen years. Her background in dancing and movement gave Katarina a head start when she began her study of T’ai Chi and she has applied herself to developing a knowledge and practice of T’ai Chi with a strong sense of purpose. Katarina is an excellent teacher, setting an example of balance and harmony for her students. She has continued to seek out new ways of teaching T’ai Chi in order to keep the studies fresh and insightful.
I hope Katarina will continue to teach for many more years and share her special knowledge of T’ai Chi with students in Vancouver.
