Here is a 5-minute video about “Mindful Listening Partnerships” which is an introduction to Focusing and TAE. See: https://activepause.com/mindful-listening-partnership/

Serge Prengel writes: “This project started a couple of years ago, as Beatrice Blake and I talked about ways to introduce people to the principles of TAE and Focusing. We then recorded a video conversation that, while very interesting, was a bit long.

Rosa Zubizarreta suggested we find a way to condense the ideas into a short video. Beatrice and I have been working on this off and on, and, little by little, it came to be.”

“We are convinced that success in learning Focusing is rare without learning to exchange Focusing partnership sessions…. The principle underlying all of the applications of Focusing is that your inner sense of rightness, accessible through bodily knowing, is a reliable guide to moving forward. Focusing means learning how to develop that inner sense.”
     – Ann Weiser Cornell, PhD & Barbara McGavin, the Introduction to The Focusing Studentʼs & Companionʼs Manual (2002)

“Listening can also be a doorway to the deeper philosophy of Focusing. Perhaps you remember seeing  a child who falls, then looks around at others to see their reaction before starting to cry?  “… “we first know ourselves as reflected in the other. One of the most interesting ideas we discussed in our study group is that our resonance with others may actually precede our awareness of ourselves. Developmentally and evolutionarily, our modern self-awareness circuitry may be built upon the more ancient resonance circuits that root us in our social world.”
 – Dan Siegel, page 62, Mindsight (2010)
