A six-day, in-person training program offering 30 to 36 educational hours, led by Alan Questel, the first-generation Feldenkrais® trainers trained directly by Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais.
Pregnant Pauses® teacher training has been offered to Feldenkrais® trainees and graduates in over 20 countries and regions, including Canada, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Japan, and Taiwan, China.
Now, it is open to practitioners from other somatic disciplines and movement educators. Its teaching methodology has gained wide recognition, a strong international reputation, and a loyal following.
A compact and refined system, Pregnant Pauses® distills Alan Questel’s over 40 years of practice, his research in the field of pregnancy and childbirth, and his integration of movement knowledge across different stages of pregnancy. It is designed to help expectant mothers move through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with greater ease and comfort—nurturing both themselves and their babies.
What participants will receive:
  • A 128-page Pregnant Pauses® Teacher Manual, in English and Chinese
  • 7 hours of Pregnant Pauses® video materials in English with Chinese subtitles
  • A printed Pregnant Pauses® International Certificate
  • Conditional right to use the Pregnant Pauses® trademark
  • Your name and professional details listed on the official international website, including name, phone, email, website, work address, and social media handles
Upon completion, participants will be certified to teach Pregnant Pauses® to the general public. This work is based on the Feldenkrais Method®, but completion of this training does not qualify you to teach the Feldenkrais Method®, Awareness Through Movement®, or Functional Integration®. Please note accordingly.

Alan Questel
Alan S. Questel is known for his clarity, creativity and down to earth style of teaching. He brings a depth of understanding, humor and a gentle human perspective to the learning of the Method and creates lively conditions for learning.
Trained by Dr. Feldenkrais (Amherst 1983), Alan has lectured and taught at hospitals, colleges and Feldenkrais® Professional Training Programs throughout the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Japan, Taiwan and Canada, teaching people from all walks of life.
He has taught at Princeton University, S.U.N.Y. College at Purchase, the New York Open Center, the New Actors Workshop, NYC, The Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, Palo Alto, CA and at Mother Teresa’s Shishu Bhavan in Calcutta, India.
Alan sees the Feldenkrais Method®as a means for individual maturation, and aspires towards making this appreciable and concrete for his students both in training programs and in his practice. He is also the creater of Pregnant Pauses® and the author of Practice Intentional Acts of Kindness…and Like Yourself More; and Creating Creativity-Embodying the Creative Process.

The early bird registration deadline is March 26, 2026. If you confirm that you are unable to attend, a full refund will be issued before the early bird deadline; after the early bird deadline, a 25% registration fee will be deducted. If you need to transfer your attendance opportunity to another person or to the next training session, please submit a request before April 26, 2026.
